Succulents and cacti are my absolute favorite subject to paint! There's just something so satisfying about studying the various shapes of the leaves, the endless shades of green and being able to "grow" a cactus on paper in under thirty minutes. I can't even get pizza delivered that quickly! Whenever I feel stressed from work or emotionally drained from life itself, picking up a paintbrush, mixing up some watercolors and creating a few little beauties instantly cheers me up and puts a smile on my face.
In addition to doing paintings of single potted succulents, I've started painting them on blank greeting cards and using them for all occasions. I personally love blank notecards because of the endless uses for them. Blank cards aren't geared toward a single holiday or event, but rather a blank canvas for the message you wish to convey. By using these simple watercolor paintings on greeting cards, I've been lucky enough to witness the joy and happiness it brings to my friends and families faces when they open that envelope and see a bright little cactus staring right back. That's the goal with these little guys, to make people smile.
If you would like to have your very own little succulent painting, I will be adding a few originals for sale soon! Each painting is slightly different and no two are exactly alike. I hope these can bring you as much joy as they bring me.
